A home inspection is a visual, non-destructive examination of a home's major systems and components, including the roof, foundation, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and structural elements.
The duration of the inspection varies depending on the home's size, age, and condition, but typically takes 2-3 hours.
Our inspectors are highly trained and experienced professionals with decades of experience in the home inspection industry. They are licensed and certified and undergo regular training to stay up-to-date with the latest industry standards and practices.
While it is not mandatory, we do encourage our clients to attend the inspection so they can see firsthand any issues or concerns the inspector may uncover. This can also be a great opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the property. If you cannot attend, the report is very detailed to give you all the information you need. We are always available to answer any questions that may come up.
You will receive a written report on the same day of your inspection that details the condition of the home, including any noted defects or issues.
Radon is a naturally occurring, colorless, and odorless radioactive gas that can seep into homes through cracks in the foundation underneath. Longevity Inspections offers testing that measures radon gas levels over the span of 48 hours. The EPA recommends testing for radon because it is a leading cause of lung cancer among non-smokers.
An indoor air quality test is a comprehensive evaluation of the air quality within a building or home. It aims to identify and measure potential contaminants such as particulate matter, carbon dioxide, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), humidity, and temperature, that may affect the health and well-being of occupants.
Thermal imaging uses infrared cameras to visualize heat patterns, revealing temperature variations that can indicate hidden problems like moisture, leaks, insulation issues, and electrical problems.
